Patrick Lavon Mahomes. That is all. I mean, what else is there to say. The 25-year-old quarterback is already being considered one of the most talented quarterbacks of all time. Yes, there is Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, etc. However, they don’t quite have the skill set that Mahomes has.
Number 15 can make the most insane throws anyone could make. Take the last super bowl, for example. Mahomes would often be parallel in the air while throwing to a covered receiver, just for the ball to go through the hands of the target.
In just his first full season, the Chiefs superstar led the team to the AFC Championship game. Despite losing to Tom Brady and the Patriots, his career success would start early and only continue. Let’s not forget he also won the MVP in 2018.
In 2019, it only got better for Mahomes. He led Kansas City to a Superbowl and won the hardware to go along with it. Last year, it was another Superbowl appearance for Mahomes. His potential is undeniably through the roof. However, there is one thing Mahomes could fix going into next season.
One Hole in Mahomes Game to Fix Before Season
If there is a quarterback with the total package, it would be the former of Texas Tech. He can make almost any throw. It does not matter if he is standing still in the pocket or on the run outside the pocket. The face of the league can run well too. Yes, he needs to learn to slide a bit better, but that’s beside the point.
If there is anything the MVP needs to work on, it’s doing too much. Yes, he has a tendency to try and do too much instead of just doing enough. And that can be somewhat of a competitive trait. He just wants to win at all cost, and he will do whatever it takes.
However, he can get flashy when he doesn’t need to. Yes, it’s all part of the show, and it helps his image. However, sometimes it is not required. Mahomes’ skillset is light years ahead of where most of us thought it really was. However, that doesn’t mean he can’t get better.
